Product Features and Applications
The core feature of poly(2-vinylpyridine) lies in the unique pH responsiveness and modifiability endowed by its pyridine ring. It can be protonated and change its properties in an acidic environment, and can introduce new functions through reactions such as quaternization. At the same time, its excellent metal coordination and self-assembly capabilities make it an ideal platform for building smart materials and nanostructures.
Industrial coating: A dense protective film can be formed through cross-linking or compounding. Its hydrophobic properties (contact angle >90°) and chemical stability provide long-term salt spray corrosion protection for metal and chemical equipment.
Medical materials: Drug delivery: Use pH responsiveness to build smart micelles to release anti-cancer drugs in the slightly acidic environment of tumors to achieve targeted therapy.
Antibacterial coating: After quaternary ammonium modification, a high-efficiency contact antibacterial surface can be prepared, with an antibacterial rate of more than 99% against a variety of bacteria.
Electronic packaging: With its high-speed brightness and moderate dielectric properties, it can be used as an insulating layer or optical film for flexible displays, balancing packaging protection and signal transmission requirements.
